   Rev. Dr. Michelle Lewis is also the Youth Director at Mount Olivet UMC on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. She has formerly served as the lead pastor of New Rochelle UMC, Catskill UMC, and East Berlin UMC.

She is passionate about the intersection of religion and the environment; helping people and communities reach their full potential through creativity that engages the spiritual and the natural worlds. Rev. Lewis is also passionate about the intersectionality of all Justice Issues.

She is the founder of the Peace Garden Project: it addresses justice issues while feeding people in communities. She is an award-winning filmmaker and radio show host. Her podcast Unpacking Faith can be found on iTunes. Michelle is the first woman of color to hold joint Master’s degrees in Religion and the Environment from Yale. She holds a D.Min from Candler School of Theology. She has worked as a park ranger, hospital chaplain, and advisor to a country at the U.N. She also traveled to Saudi Arabia where she was a part of a delegation that worked on Christian and Muslim dialogues.

Rev. Lewis loves God, people, and believes it is possible to change the world one person at a time.
